Gunungan: Barong and Rangda, 2020

Everything was made in Photoshop.
Inspired by the Barong and Rangda Balinese myth. The two opposites, Barong (the good) and Rangda the evil sparked by revenge, fight. Although Barong always wins the battle, both creatures are considered equivocal as the fight will go on again, eternally.
The shape here is based on a Gunungan, an Indonesian figure used for a theatrical performance called wayang.
